The conference theme of “Authority, Leadership and Power – Sacrifice and Loss in a Shared World” speaks to the challenges we face as citizens in these times.   What do privileged groups in an organization or nation have to sacrifice for less privileged and the whole to heal and thrive?   Comfort?  Complacency?  Power?  What is the basis of a leader’s authority?  Tradition?  Force?  Truth?   What losses and what gains accompany different ways we take up leadership and followership?  We will explore these questions.
