The New York Center is pleased to host a recurring 6-week in-person Small Study Group in the Group Relations tradition.  This series is especially suited for individuals who have attended at least one Group Relations conference and are seeking to deepen their understanding of small group life by studying their experience in the here and now over an extended period of time.

Unlike most Group Relations experiential learning groups, which are often embedded within larger conference systems, this recurring group will exist independently. Therefore, each member enters the group for reasons both conscious and unconscious as distinct from a Small Study Group (SSG) within a larger conference system. These distinctions will be significant to the dynamics of the group throughout its lifecycle. How do these motivations  emanate from and relate to, each others’ complex intersectionalities? Where do they overlap, and where do they diverge?  How do roles in the family, workplace, and society inform group membership? These questions, seen as key to the dynamics of the SSG, will form the essence of the group’s identity and focus.

Registration is limited to 8 participants. Please note that this is an application, and completing this form does not guarantee your spot in the event.  All applications will be reviewed, and applicants will be notified of their admission status no later than December 13, 2023.

A virtual mid-point review will be held during the week of January 22. A virtual debrief and reflection will take place at the culmination of the series.
